Every parent dreams that their child will grow up to be well adjusted, successful adults. Unfortunately, for most of us, we struggle as adults to achieve the level of success we know we deserve but just can't seem to reach our full potential.

You can help your child decrease their chances of struggling through adulthood by giving them a solid foundation when they are young. It is never too early to impress upon them the importance of always striving to be their best, and letting them know that they can achieve their dreams no matter how big.

One way to do this is through inspirational quotes. You can share daily or weekly quotes with your child and discuss what the quote means. Ask your child what they think it means, and how they feel about that particular quote. For very young children, you can use simple quotes, and increase the complexity, as they get older.

For every quote that you discuss with your child, put a copy in a scrapbook or journal. Keep notes about what they said or how they reacted to that particular quote. Have them draw pictures in the journal relating to the quote. They can even write down their dreams, goals and aspirations, again depending on their age. Do this on a weekly basis, adding different quotes, pictures and notes to the journal. Be sure to date each entry.

As your child grows, you will have an extensive collection of quotes and a comprehensive journal that they can look back on and reflect on what is important to them. Their dreams and aspirations may have changed over the years. That wish for a new bike may have turned into a wish for a new car. That's OK because they will now have the skills to put together an action plan on how to achieve that dream of a new car. They will have the self-confidence and positive thinking skills they need to achieve their dreams.

As your child becomes an adult, these skills will be in their blood, so to speak. They will not know how to think any other way, but positive. Dreams, goals and aspirations will always be reached because action plans will be created for each goal, and confidence will be abundant. Success will find them, always.
